Spring in London

Spring is one of the most magical times in London.  We welcome back the sun after it has seemingly been in hiding for months.  People really start to embrace the outdoor spaces that London has to offer, causing the city to feel more alive than it has in months.

Throughout the city you will find scattered blossoms and wisteria.  Some areas to check out for great sightings are Hampstead, Notting Hill, Sloane Square and Kensington (but truly they are all over).

One of my favorite things to do in London in spring is really embrace the green spaces that the city has to offer.  Hyde Park has some great options from renting paddle boats on the Serpentine, to ‘The Rooftop’ a lovely outdoor bar that allows you to pitch up under some trees.  One of my favorite things about the weather is that is acceptable to enjoy some Pimm’s again.  (One of my favorite acquired tastes since my move abroad).

Another, slightly more low-key option, is to head to Richmond Park.  Within the borders of the park you will find a magical area called ‘Isabella Plantation.’  This place is a wonderful little oasis, filled with a rainbow of flowers and plant life.

My last favorite spot, definitely the most out of the way option, would be the gardens at Fulham Palace.  This just happens to be one of the most serene places to grad a blanket and lay in the sun. During the months while the flowers are in bloom, these gardens are amazing.
