6 Things to do in the Winter in London

London winters can be chilly, with a side of overcast, and therefore can inspire one to hibernate.  If you are finally emerging from your post-holiday slump and are done with Dry January or just visiting London in the colder months, fear not there is still plenty to do in good ole London Town.

Pubs | Britain is known for its quintessential pubs.  If you would like to post up in a laidback atmosphere and enjoy some local brews with some timeless British cuisine, the pub life is for you. Winter is an amazing time to take advantage of a hearty pub roast.  Plus, there are pubs everywhere in London, so you cannot go wrong.

High tea | Doing a high tea is always a fun experience, and since tea is a staple in the British lifestyle, you might as well embrace it while you are here.  Finger sandwiches, scones and pastries paired with any tea of your choice are definitely enough to keep you warm and comforted on any cold winter day.  Some favorites are the high tea at the Savoy or the Langham for a special experience!

Food markets | As a lover of food, London’s variety of food markets is one of my favorite things about this city.  Though, these markets are partially outside, grabbing some warm dumplings or ramen will warm you straight way.  There are some many options, that any curious food lover would be amazed with (watch this space for a full post on this!) Definitely check out Borough Market and Spitalfields Market!

Museums | London has some fabulous museums, and many of them are free.  Definitely a great idea to get lost in the halls of museums when it’s just too nippy to hang outside.  Just make sure you reserve a slot as some museums require advance booking!

Cafés | London has nearly an equal number of cafés to pubs, and it’s a beautiful thing! There are loads of (Instagramable) cafés, with great coffee options.  Whether you want to grab a book or a friend, they are cozy place to spend some time on a gray day.

Theatre | London is known for its West End and has an amazing amount of options for shows.  Take advantage of discount tickets if you are flexible on what show you can see, there are some great last minute options (Checkout apps like TodayTix)
