The Extra Items to Stop Packing in Your Suitcase
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but we all overpack. If you are like me you have a very optimistic view on how much you can or want to carry as well as the amount of time you have to use your items. Let’s all save some time and back pain and really take a moment to be realistic about what needs to come with us while traveling.
o Multiple books – unless it’s a beach/ chilled out trip, one or two books will do. Stop bringing the whole library Sam.
o Makeup – bring your basics, but I find I never find the time to put on ‘evening makeup’ and it just weighs my bag down!
o Unconformable shoes – save your ‘can’t walk far’ shoes for where you are home and know what to expect. When you need to walk far, inevitably you will always go for the more comfortable pair.
o Skincare – bring the basics, you don’t have time for the 20-step routine on the road.
o Random clothing – am I the only person who starts throwing extra items in without checking if they match? If you don’t, congrats, but seriously don’t do this.
o Multiple hairstyling tools – personally, I start to lose interest in doing my hair when traveling. One item will do and I usually stick to my blow dry Revlon brush as it is pretty versatile.
o Jewelry – of course bring some. I would skip the valuables and anything more than a few options. Plus, less to lose!
Let’s help each other, what do you carry that you never end up using?
