Snowdonia, North Wales
When thinking of a trip to Wales, a visit to Snowdonia was on my mind. After pouring over pictures of the beautiful snowy peaks, and quaint villages surrounding, I knew this would be on my great British bucket list. Though still very relaxing, the north and south are quite different to each other. When thinking of North Wales, I think less of the coastal getaway you experience in the south, but rather a rugged experience amongst the great peaks and winding roads. For the type of trip, I was in search of, a car was the best option, though there are other methods including planes and trains, so if that suits you best you are covered.
Snowdon (the mountain) itself is gorgeous, the avid hikers delight! This time around I chose to participate in a more relaxed activity and peruse the surrounding towns. Llanderis, was chosen because of its lakeside location. The drive from village to village is also picturesque. Caernarfon is another great area to stop in, with its beautiful UNESCO castle as the centerpiece to a beautiful area. My favorite village was Beddgelert, which sits riverside, boasting cute shops, restaurants and a super friendly/ walkable area. Make sure you stop here!
Have you been to the region yet? Where are we going in Wales?
