Zurich, Switzerland

When most think of Zurich, you think banks and expensive prices but, Zurich has a lot more to offer than that.  With a backdrop of snowcapped mountains and the Limmat running through, Zurich really shines in the winter.  You can explore a decent amount of Zurich in just a few days, potentially leaving it to a long weekend.  Start in Old Town, where you will feel the more historic parts of the city that have maintained their integrity.  Head up Uetliberg Mountain for some spectacular views, be warned that in winter in is cold.  Stroll up and down Bahnhofstrasse for some window shopping, or some actual shopping if you dare! Admire Grossmunster the gorgeous cathedral, right along your river walk! I would not miss trying Zurcher geschnetzeltes, their specialty.  If you are really leaning into the Swiss/ wintery vibes, go for some fondue and chocolates!
