How to Pack for the Lake District

A general rule of thumb when traveling in the UK would be to be prepared for any kind of weather, and that is the truth.  For the Lake District, I would generally follow this loose guideline as well.  But do remember, the Lake District is way up north.  Be mindful of the time of year, how cold it will be, whilst also being prepared for fog, humidity, rain and wind.

Generally, I would pack:

Warm outer layer

Waterproof layer

Vest/ Body warmer

Waterproof hiking shoes

Sneakers that can take a bit of mud

Multiple pairs of leggings or bottoms you feel comfortable hiking in

Water

Backpack (waterproof if you can!)

A GoPro / a camera to capture your accomplishments

Gloves/ hate (depending on time of year.

A top you can throw over your sporty outfit if you have to run to a meal quickly!

What else do you bring on your adventures?
